A traveller’s shoe’s story
I’ve been asked to tell my story. I don’t understand why anybody would want to know it, though. I’m really just very tiny and insignificant to most people. The only person who really looks at me from time to time is Stephanie, my owner. Yes, I have an owner. As I said, I’m insignificant.
The story of my life is the story of a long trip. We went on a trip, Stephanie, her Dad and me! One day in late September we entered an airplane. Have you ever been on an airplane? It’s really not worth all the emotions I had before. Anyway, we entered an airplane, it took off and we flew to Moskva. After that I really wanted to go back home. It was quite nice there, but honestly… what is a small leather shoe like me supposed to do in Moskva? Yes, that’s right. I’m a very, very tiny leather shoe with a ring through my leg. And all the time while we were travelling from Moskva to Hong Kong (by train! Who ever heard of such stupid ideas when there are airplanes which can go so much faster?!?!) I was hanging from Stephanie’s handbag. From there I had a great view of the Lake Baikal, Mongolia, the Great Wall and Hong Kong… I even saw camels in Mongolia!
Stephanie’s Godmother gave me to her so that I could take care of her. I think I did a brilliant job. She still takes me everywhere she goes. And she goes to quite a lot of places! I even have another very important task since we came back: I am the keeper of her key ring. At least that’s what SHE thinks I’m doing. Actually I’m taking care of her, so that she won’t do stupid things.
